A solid timber overlay flooring system offering luxury, quality, warmth and durability that you can lay almost anywhere.
Whatever your style, traditional or contemporary, overlay solid timber flooring is a modern twist on the classic tongue and groove. It’s the same beautiful finish, only thinner, so it can be used almost anywhere.
Overlay solid timber flooring has been designed for individuals who want a timber floor but do not have the traditional bearers and joists sub floor designed for traditional tongue & groove flooring. Solid Timber Overlay flooring is 12/13 mm instead of 19mm so it can be installed over concrete, old timber floors, particle board or plywood sub floor as long as it is clean, dry and level. As it is glued directly onto a stable surface it is well supported and does not require the extra thickness.
Prior to installation we recommend that the timber is acclimatised on site so that it can adjust to the conditions of the new environment. Following installation your new timber floor will be sanded and finished.
Timber comes in two different grades; classic or natural grade.
Natural grade celebrates the distinctive markings that occur naturally in timber, like gum veins, insect trails and knots. Natural grade will produce a floor with natural character and rustic charm. The amount and type of natural features in your floor may vary according to the timber species selected.
Classic grade is an understated grade of timber flooring which exhibits minimum natural features creating a sleek, contemporary, more formal look.
Timber is practical, easy to maintain and lasts for generations, making it a great investment. Unlike carpet, timber is hypo-allergenic. This means that it does not trap dirt, pollen and other allergens, giving you and your family a healthy peace of mind. Timber is also the only choice for asthma sufferers and those with allergy problems.
To keep your floor looking good sweep regularly with an electrostatic mop, soft broom or vacuum. When necessary, mop over your floor using QPCF Floor Cleaner and clean warm water and a cotton mop that has been well wrung out.
